Greenland University and North-Eastern University Explore Academic Collaboration with Cosmopolitan University

The founder and Chairman BoT of Greenland University, Jalingo, H.E Senator Sani Abubakar Danladi, and the Pro-Chancellor and Founder of North-Eastern University, Gombe, Dr. Sani Jauro (Danlawan Gombe), have expressed interest in exploring academic collaboration and institutional partnerships with Cosmopolitan University, Abuja, particularly in the areas of computer science, computer engineering, agriculture, research, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
The university leaders made this known during a special visit to Cosmopolitan University on 1 May 2026, where they engaged with the University's Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Climate-Smart Agriculture (CCSA), Dr. Rislan Abdulazeez Kanya.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the institutions to exchange ideas and experiences on the role of higher education in advancing technology, agriculture, research, innovation, and human capital development in Nigeria.
Discussions also focused on the importance of building stronger partnerships among tertiary institutions to promote accessible, quality, and affordable education, while creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, research collaboration, and practical innovation.
Exploring Technology and Digital Innovation
During the visit, Dr. Rislan Abdulazeez Kanya led the visiting delegation on a tour of selected Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities and digital resources at Cosmopolitan University.
The delegation was introduced to the University's digital infrastructure and equipment supporting teaching, learning, research, and technology-driven innovation. The tour provided the guests with an opportunity to observe how digital resources are being integrated into the University's academic environment.
Visit to the Centre for Climate-Smart Agriculture
The delegation also visited the Centre for Climate-Smart Agriculture (CCSA), where Dr. Kanya presented the Centre's facilities and provided an overview of its vision, mission, programmes, and areas of work.
The guests were introduced to CCSA's efforts to promote climate-smart agriculture through education, research, innovation, technology, and practical agricultural solutions.
Climate-smart agriculture plays an important role in strengthening food security, improving agricultural productivity, supporting farmers' livelihoods, and building resilience to climate-related challenges while promoting environmental sustainability.
Through its education, research, training, and partnership activities, CCSA seeks to support the development and adoption of practical approaches that can help farmers, agricultural institutions, young people, and other stakeholders respond to emerging climate and agricultural challenges.
Towards Stronger Academic and Research Partnerships
The visit highlighted areas of common interest where the institutions could explore future cooperation, including academic exchange, research, technology and innovation, agriculture, capacity building, and knowledge sharing.
Speaking during the engagement, H.E. Senator Sani Abubakar Danladi noted that the milestone reflects the institutions' commitment to academic excellence, innovation, collaboration, and national development.
