On 29 June 2026, the Centre for Climate-Smart Agriculture (CCSA), Cosmopolitan University Abuja, received an invitation from the UNESCO Abuja Office to participate in the Youth Skills for Agricultural Transformation in Kano State: ATVET Career Fair, Industry Linkages and Career Awareness 2026.

The programme, held on 15 July 2026 at Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Dambatta, Kano State, was implemented under the Better Education for Africa's Rise (BEAR III) programme, funded by the Government of the Republic of Korea, in collaboration with Audu Bako College of Agriculture.

The Centre was proudly represented by its Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Badaru Yahaya Usman, who attended on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of CCSA.

In his address, Dr. Badaru reaffirmed the Centre's strong commitment to promoting innovation, research, technology-driven solutions, and climate-smart agriculture. He expressed appreciation to UNESCO for the invitation and for providing a platform that brings together stakeholders committed to transforming agricultural education and youth development.

He also highlighted the Centre's ongoing efforts to advance digital agriculture and climate-smart TVET, while showcasing the existing collaboration between CCSA and Audu Bako College of Agriculture. Through this partnership, the Centre is currently training students on Climate-Smart Agriculture and Digital Agriculture, equipping them with practical skills needed for modern and sustainable farming.

The event brought together distinguished dignitaries, including the Provost of Audu Bako College of Agriculture, the Head of UNESCO Abuja Office, the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Kano State, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Kano State, representatives of the Governor of Kano State, and leaders from various agricultural industries and partner organisations.

CCSA remains committed to building strategic partnerships that empower young people with the knowledge and skills required to drive agricultural transformation, strengthen food security, and promote sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
