The Centre for Climate-Smart Agriculture (CCSA), Cosmopolitan University, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Organic Agriculture Foundation of Nigeria (OAFN) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening sustainable, organic, and climate-smart agriculture in Nigeria.

The MoU signing marks an important step in the growing collaboration between both organisations, following a series of engagements focused on sustainability, climate resilience, innovation, and the future of agriculture in Nigeria.

The partnership is built on a shared commitment to supporting more sustainable and environmentally responsible agricultural practices while strengthening the capacity and resilience of farmers and agricultural institutions.

CCSA, through its work in climate-smart agriculture, promotes approaches that support climate adaptation and mitigation, resource efficiency, innovation, and sustainable agricultural development. OAFN, on the other hand, is committed to promoting organic and regenerative agricultural systems and supporting the development of sustainable food systems in Nigeria.

Through the new partnership, CCSA and OAFN will work together to:

- Promote environmentally responsible and sustainable farming practices;
- Strengthen farmers’ knowledge, capacity, and resilience;
- Support sustainable and climate-responsive food systems;
- Encourage innovation and resource-efficient agricultural practices; and
- Develop stronger institutional and technical frameworks for organic and climate-smart agriculture.

The signing ceremony brought together key representatives from both organisations. The National President of OAFN, Mr. Joseph Ali, and the National Coordinator of OAFN, Dr. Munzali Dayyabu, were present at the event.

Representing CCSA was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Cosmopolitan University and Founder/CEO of the Centre for Climate-Smart Agriculture, Dr. Rislan Abdulazeez Kanya, alongside Dr. Gidado M. J., Head of Research, Innovation and Grantmanship at CCSA.

The partnership reflects the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges facing agriculture, climate change, food systems, and environmental sustainability in Nigeria.

Speaking through the partnership, both organisations are positioned to combine their knowledge, experience, and resources to support practical solutions that can contribute to a more resilient and sustainable agricultural sector.

The signing of the MoU is not only a formal agreement between CCSA and OAFN but also a commitment to continued collaboration and shared action towards a more sustainable future for agriculture in Nigeria.
